NO other candidate is willing to do this...so the people must

Sometimes I hate the whole notion of presidency...But here comes the election and polished up trained horses to sell the One Shit to save all Shits. It is the model.

If a candidate for president cannot discuss oil and war in Iraq or Afghanistan and for that matter Iran and Pakistan then they are alergic to the truth and unfit to end any sort of conflict in the region. If a candidate cannot declare the real reasons why this country has 150,000 troops in Iraq, then i seriously doubt they'll be able to call off the dogs of war as president. When the former chairman of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, states that the Iraq war is "largely about Oil," I wonder why Americans keep buying the bullshit fed to us. Why do we keep believing that policy is being made to protect us or protect the sovereignty of Iraq, or to save Iraqi lives, or to promote democracy or liberate people or strategically corner Iran for Israel...or hunt down 'terrorists' or whatever bullshit fed to the populace that elects leader after leader who propagates war and death. We have not even taken time to examine the "largely" aspect and to note the strategic location in relation to the whole ENTIRE region and the players that would be involved in such a statement. In fact this isolated view of aerial google earth satellite hopping and plopping of artifical bordered lands is all a joke.

we fall for red herring after red herring...willingly.l

And in fact, perhaps all of this is even a red herring to myself..because the controls of the united states of America are still in the hands of the people. So while we wish for the leader of the time... some president to Moses us all out of the wilderness of soul departure, we lose sight that it is our conscience and intelligence as a whole people. So often we are insulted with belittling pitty as a voter and watch big chinned comedians proclaim our stupidity in our faces as they propagate the absurd lie.

The unfortunate truth is that American citizens have an obligation. 1, to give a shit. Personally, I have given no shit. I continue to turn a blind eye to the reality that our friends and family are being used for anti-democratic interests and disgusting Death and destruction.

As long as we have candidates running for president proclaiming they "pray to god" that we don't go to war with Iran instead of saying "we won't go to war with Iran if I'm president" there can be no intellectual honesty. If I prayed to god for such a desire, I imagine the best thing God could do would put me in a position to understand how absurd it is to ask him to do what I need to do.

Mind you, that a president, in my view, should also be judged for years after their presidency and what type of doors they created for the forces they claimed to oppose...I suppose though the loose claims of political opposition to such forces don't even exist in any real shape to begin with round these parts...

It is obvious to everyone in the world that the reasons we had, want to have, or want a different sort of relationship with Iran, Saudi Arabia or Iraq...or any other nation under the media umbrella at the moment is precisely because of the natural resources and profit to be made off those resources by whatever world entity interested. A look at our own country's 30+ year history here would make this fact indisputable. Check that. 30 years would be a nice start though.

If we dig deeper into what is currently rolling, we will see that disintegration and power play is disregarding and cheapening the lives of Millions of people in much the same brutality that has taken place in names of civilized worlds and elite power holders for centuries on this planet.

The very notion that these regions are even looked at with the current perspective of their borders is a joke. The map with which earthly dominating dreamers view Eurasia has a thousand shapes and Millions of dead Bodies.

Oscar Wilde...mixed bag

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

Eh...why not.

It's 1236 am and nothing better to do. Sitting and waiting for a 240 am bus to take me to bakersfield and then a train to take me to back to San Francisco.

By the end of this week hopefully i'll be doubly employed. 1st, by the national parks to inform nudist beachers that they can't have sex in the bushes...I suppose it would rdemonstrate that I have pretty good people skills for a future employer...if i don't get this job..im not going to lie...i'll be pretty demoralized...not because i'm dying to do it, but because it'd be tough to take someone telling me that they're looking in another direction or whatnot..really? Someone beat me out for this?..And honestly it might be a good thing to work for the national parks. Who knows? Maybe they'll give me my own park to look after. First thing I do with my own plot of land to control...Plant Giant Seqoias..they are really cool and they should exist in more places...i'd figure out a way to make them grow...Music makes plants grow so we'll have lots of concerts and then some fusias...if you've never seen fusias...they're these flowers that bloom up and down. I probably just spelled them wrong..i just discovered them recently and so that's why im sharing. I'm not a big botanist or anything. I was talking about parks which made me think of trees and then flowers. We'll have lots of people in my park too. We'll keep their clothes on...maybe on certain days we'll have nude park days..like Thursdays. That's fair i think. Kites and Concerts too, so hopefully wind. And an honor code library. So on Saturdays when someone forgets their book they can check one out without any card...

Anyways..The 2nd is for a marketing firm... not much to say really but "eh" it's all for the Temp O Rary. And well, it's a good thing that I've always thought of my education as a lifelong process and that it was for more than landing a job...(that's called reassuring the self. Masterfully done.) I am looking forward to the prospect of affording my own space...Time is of the essence so first come first serve at this point... I'm practicing vision prospectus...if that is even a practice...where you envision a future occurance and it happens. No harm in it really...it happens or it doesn't.

Of course I could get surprised by some other previous interview...I shall definitely call all first.

My brain is a bit tired right now so i can't think of anything to say. this was a bad idea...If i fall asleep i miss the bus and thus an interview...I won't I'll nail it. More to attend to anyways. up...could possibly be easy job to get...whatever, i takes it cause i needs it.

I'm thankful for this weekend. Got to see Flogging Molly Live and crash the Devil's Dance Floor with one Collin Patrick and Mr. Ryan Mccarney. My jaw hurts a little. "Look at those fucking Bastards with their Gin and Tonics up there! The real meat and potatoes are down here!!"... If I do say so myself, we are quite the Jiggers...it's in the blood...the fact that the goofier you look the better you are is very beneficial for me.

I should take this time to give a shout out into the abyss to Tyler and Kelly. They let this mommaloook take up their floor and lots of privacy during the week while I am unemployed and homeless.

So to all I know:

Letting the good stuff out

1st, Friendly reminder (mainly to the self) to let more good stuff out...cause

"there's nowhere else you can put life but way down deep inside"

-Ben of the Harper.

Ice Cream Cone...there's always thrifty's ice cream cones... no matter what. Thrifty's Icecream elevates the spirit...there's no fighting it. you just can't. Dare you.

Secondly, I am getting a bit desperate for a succesful interview and rather and have turned to the powers of John Wooden..I figure if he can turn people into grand champions he could probably help me get a job...I just need a way to apply the pyramid to an interview... I think i may need John Wooden sqaure of success for dummies or something.

Political Blabber...sort of like mind blubber...beware you may knock yourself out when you fall asleep at your desk.

My semi-deliberate and nonetheless blatant disregard for grammar is beginning to disgust me. I am going to try and clean up my language. I've been reading more lately and am regaining some oldfound respect for the English language. I had misplaced it somehow. I think I just made up the word oldfound, so whatever maybe not. Anyways, I recommend Walden and Other Writings... I suppose I've only been reading Walden thus far. Its philosophical literature, so my recommendation comes coupled with a "only if your in the mood" sticker on it or a "if you like that type of literature." But seriously, even if you don't, try something NEW! Would it kill you? Why am I manifesting into a 10th grade literature teacher? Anyways, I enjoy Thoreau a lot. I like to let my brain sort of meet the author's and see where I disagree with a philosophical view. Book #2 I recommend is The Picture of Dorian Gray. I'm almost done with it. I'm currently reading both books and once I begin reading either at night I can't really put them down. I don't know, I sort of like reading two books at once sometimes. And you could say I'm wild over Oscar Wilde!! Ooohhh lol I did just think that. NERD!! I had forgotten how soothing reading is for me.

OK I didn't want to start a book club. I really wanted to share some thoughts on my dissatisfaction with the dehumanizing nature of political campaigns. I use 'dehumanizing' not in the pre-genocide sense. I'm not talking about campaigns to dehumanize a population of people. What I'm talking about, to be more specific, is the dehumanized nature of political campaigns in this country. There is no human touch in political campaigning!!! NO! NOt The Bruce Springsteen Human touch lol!! Although maybe there isn't enough of that either. What I'm getting at is that the campaigns are so robotic. The presidential campaign, particularly, is void of any attempt to touch the human spirit. AT ALL!!! I don't mean humanizing the candidates either. Like the "which candidate would you like to have a beer with?" nonsense or perhaps in a wierd way someone was onto something depends on the type of drunk I suppose. I think I mean the aim of the candidate. These so called "leaders" express nothing. There are specific policy debates and issues where there is definitely some legitimate discussion happening, no doubt. Emphasize the word "SOME." But honestly I think it's obvious for most of us humans watching that this is even very limited and to some degree heavily contrived so as to gobble up votes.

Maybe its just me but I can see the candidate actually thinking as they talk. I can see them painfully stake out a well-crafted position on an issue as thoughts of "ok great who did i alienate who did i impress. How many voters did I just gobble?" Of course it's not just me, we all see it. It's the same slogan and mindless drivel that has been repeated for decades really. I blame it on campaign managers. Voters have become some other species and are not human to these people. And so there's no soul in political speech just rhetoric.

Its all geared towards gobbling votes. And yeah, it's obviously important when you are running for president that you get votes. But if I had the Bully Pulpit, I'd be sharing my soul.

I feel that political leaders today don't respect the voting public enough to share their soul. They treat the public like they are dumb. I suppose this is a time-honored tradition. And in turn, their words and their sentiments are hollow and to be honest belittle the speakers of the words. The common theme amongst voters is "these people are all schmucks!" And well, I think this attitude reflects the attitude political leaders have of the people they preach to. The people they so often proclaim to have "faith in" ..."I believe in the American Peop..." No you don't!

I mean am I really impressed with Hillary Clinton when she creates a mythical battle against a lame duck president? You are not ousting Bush!! You aren't going to trick me into believing you're doing it!! He's being removed by term limits. All these ploys to score political points by attacking an administration that has 25 percent job approval ratings is incredibly uninspiring. (Want to note I am actually impressed with Hillary on some level. I think she is a very intelligent woman, much more intelligent than me. And being shrewd is a good trait in politics I know. I am sick of knee-jerk disapprovals of her.. But also her ambiguity on key issues on such as matters like say WAR in Iraq and her former spot on Wal-Mart Board of Directors bothers the shit out of me...all the things she could of done? Wal-Mart?? Guess it was important to meet the right people)AND I like that she gets to wear different colors. ...Are they playing me?

Or Barak Obama? How many times can a man proclaim he wants to elevate the discussion and never do it? Here's a clue...don't say you want to elevate the discussion...Be like NIKE. JUST DO IT!! Go ahead. The floor is all yours. Elevate the discussion already. I mean I like that in 2002 before Iraq ever started that he had the judgment to say it was a dumb war when 75% of the public thought bombing people into freedom was logical. Or when people thought Shock N Awe was wonderful entertainment...like their brains couldn't put together that big explosions means lots of blood.. if you were one of these people than I’m sorry I was really pissed with you...but remember with great love comes dissapointment-MLK... some people understood and still believed it right and ok that's respectable... still completely wrong but not disgusting... anyways I like that he wants to publish online any meeting between lobbyists and lawmakers. But he too has dumbed himself down and is hurling bland rhetoric.

To give a for instance of what I mean, I submit the Gay Marriage "issue.” The troubling thing for me about this issue isn’t that I disagree with a great deal of my fellow citizens, what bothers me is political candidates and how they deal with the issue.

I recently watched a discussion on a Gay and Lesbian Television Station. The discussion was led by Melissa Ethridge and was staged and I do mean STAGED for Democratic Presidential candidates to declare their support for Gay and Lesbian rights. So needless to say a key topic was Homosexual Marriage...The format was such that each candidate was able to take the stage and express themselves without urgent time constraints. It was an intimate setting. I'd characterize it as a more Gay and more meaningful Oprah type of setting.

Candidate after candidate marched proudly onto the stage prepared to give their perfectly crafted position on an issue of direct importance to their audience. They would give their answers and then exit the stage like an awkward job applicant wondering if they struck a chord.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle dumb...I watched as one after the other danced around the issue... EVERY ONE stated they were for Equality..."just not calling it marriage" I heard some of them state they had no personal objections and didn't believe that marriage rights for homosexuals would in any way change marriage for anyone else or for society...Some proclaimed to be personally for marriage.. but as president would not support or sign any law that gave marriage rights... NONE (except of course Kucinich) of the candidates were willing to say "yes, I would support and sign into law Same sex marriage" WHY? If some of them actually believe it is the right thing to do... than why not say it? BECAUSE THEY treat the public like they are dumb as rocks...We are not humans to them. We are soulless noams. We’re too stupid to be dealt with on a human level.

BACK TO THE ISSUE AT HAND!!! (Raising Finger as if wielding a giant sword)

I happen to believe that if there is a segment of the population that wants to take part and respect one of our society's honored institutions, that as part of the majority it is essential to welcome that desire. I believe it is necessary to welcome it if we still desire to become a more perfect society. Anything less, in my opinion, is less than equality. It would send a powerful message of acceptance of homosexuals as equal members of society to allow full participation in the institution of marriage. I hear the argument that it's a "sacred institution." ALL the more reason to share.

To deny such a right over semantics of "what you call it" is complete bullshit to me. To say that you are going to support something that gives equal rights but not call it marriage and call it civil unions is an admission that there is something inherently wrong about homosexual couples that merits unequal status. Why not call it marriage. Society must seek to become more unified. The goal should be to love and accept one another in a more unconditional manner. Not divide and segregate. We shouldn't maintain social status and protect institutional barriers. Homosexuals exist in our society and they should be able to take part in it fully. Anyways this issue ranks about 13th on important issues to me...which is maybe a sad commentary on how i empathize with those struggling for equality I don't know...BUT it is hugely annoying to me the way candidates deal with the issue.

OK that’s my little opinion.. but polls indicate that the public disagrees. YAY public. Whoa is me we disagree . . . lol... And this is where candidates are not treating people like intelligent adults... People can make a decision on a candidate and not agree with everything the candidate believes. There are a very limited amount of voters who would vote for president on the single issue of Gay Marriage and these people aren't supporters of Civil Unions either so i don't understand the political dancing by Democrats on the issue... Man or Woman the Fuck up and say what you believe...(if I were Melissa Ethridge that's what I would have spewed back in their face)... I mean all these candidates couldn't even say what they believed in front of a crowd that was dying to hear it from them...PATHETIC

I like 2 candidates right now... Dennis Kucinich(democrat) and Ron Paul(republican).

I am scared shitless of one. Rudolph Giuliani. And the fact that he's Italian makes me want to throw up. Every time I hear this guy talk... its like he's Winston Churchill in the middle of World War II... I watched a commentator on tv proclaim that AMericans like a "pinch of Fascism" in their presidents... Oh, do we really?..not me! I submit to You Rudy Giuliani:

"Maybe it comes out of our history and our background. What we don't see is that freedom is not a concept in which people can do anything they want, be anything they can be. Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do."

I'm not sure what history he speaks of... maybe it's ancestral or something but honestly Italians and government makes me think fascism, empire, anarchy....I don't know maybe Giuliani wasn't fed enough as a child. I know his rhetoric can work...which is sort of scary.

Anyways. I think my favorite politician, historically speaking, was Bobby Kennedy. I really think he spoke on a human level. He treated people as intelligent souls. He didn't change how he spoke in front of different audiences. He saw people as human beings and that is why he was able to cut across barriers. He quoted poetry, alluded to ancient philosophers, practiced intellectual honesty, and chose tranquility over agitation. In his political candidate days he was in touch with the humanness of his audience and I really think it showed. I bring him up because I am done with politics. . . it’s no good for me. . . is that selfish?

Perhaps my favorite speech ever is Bobby Kennedy's speech given in South Africa in 1966 on the Day of affirmation. He's talking in front of South African activists. The language and content of the speech does not devalue the intelligence his audience and the speech reflects an elevated frame of thought. It's stunning to see the difference in his thoughts versus Giuliani's "Freedom is submission to Authority." Bobby Kennedy's freedom:

"And even government by the consent of the governed, as in our own Constitution, must be limited in its power to act against its people; so that there may be no interference with the right to worship, or with the security of the home; no arbitrary imposition of pains or penalties by officials high or low; no restrictions on the freedom of men to seek education or work or opportunity of any kind, so that each man may become all he is capable of becoming."

Politics makes me feel like Charlie Brown sometimes. Good GRIEF! So, I'm tuning out until someone tunes in... To the human beings they are talking to.

Stepping down off my soapbox...lol sorry. HEY!!!! LIKE I SAID IF I had the Bully Pulpit I'd share my damn soul. Yikes that was long. I’m going to go finish Dorian Gray. . . I need to be employed...which could happen friday!! I like my little pouch...I don't think i'll be able to afford the internent soon. I gotta pick myself up off the floor and put myself into a bed.

Lollapalooza

I went to lollapalooza last weekend and am still thinking about it. And would like to bring along anyone I know... I had never been to a music festival before. And all I can say is WOW!! Music is sooo powerful. LOADS of fun. Of course, you have to get past people smoking in your face(which I actually started preferring to Sweaty ass and Feet), Body odor(This was me night one, but night two and three I smelled pretty good), be willing to suspend all personal space rights, the heat, the sun, starvation at some points, holding in your pee, lack of water(it's ok for me I'm lika a camel), and standing for pretty much three days straight.

But I was never unhappy about any of that because the music just takes over. The bands at Lollaplaooza were pretty kick ass. If you ever get a chance see these bands live do it:

1st day of festival:

Elvis Perkins in Dearland(saw them a bit), Poliphonic spree, moe, The Black Keys, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals...(I love Ben harper, he puts soo much soul into his music...did a rendition of Master's of War with Eddie Vedder which blew me away....) something I noticed about Ben Harper in that song... the end verse which states "I hope that you die..and your death will come soon and the following the casket etc..." it seemed that Ben Harper had to work himself up for that particular verse. He played a good extra 40 seconds or so before starting it. It's a little past something I think he would ever write or put in his own music..but it was cool to see an artist work through his own personal comfortness to do it... I'm pretty sure that's what I saw there. But powerful music on night one... for sure...something interesting to add. Went out that night on the Blue line to have a few drinks and eat some food with my friend Magic. On our way back we were followed by a homeless gentleman named Aron... Aron had seen my friend perform a magic trick in which he changes small bills into larger bills. Aron had no Identification except for his parole information. It made me ponder the "Innocent Criminals" part to Ben Harper's band. I wondered how long this guy had been part of the criminal justice system and what he did to become part of it... maybe something horrible, maybe something minute like a drug offense... maybe nothing at all... And I thought how it affects the rest of his life on earth. What is crime? If someone commits a crime are they never an innocent person ever again? There's always alot of talk about dangerous people being let out on parole and I don't doubt that is a problem...But Aron didn't seem like on of those...Magic gave him twenty dollars and I gave him a two dollar CD I bought off another gentleman before we got to the train.

NEways Day 2= My favorite
Started off with

Started off with Silverchair who was new to me, but in reality ancient...the singer was an incredibly good performer... they were headline material for sure...Then we made our way over to the opposite end of the park to see the Roots who were possibly my favorite. They put out a very good vibe and their music sort of loosened up the whole crowd I felt. I found myslef dancing and singing more freely the rest of the festival... when the roots finished. headed over to hear Regina Spektor. I don't know.. I think its that she is very quirky, but move over scarlett johansen... Regina Spektor was amazing...I was surprised to see such a big crowd for her and she was too...she normally plays in small clubs I think..she looked up at the jumbo screen at one point commented on how big she was and at another point she stopped in the middle of her song because she saw someone sick in the crowd and made everyone part to make an aisle...She was incredible though if you've never heard her she has an interesting look at things and her voice is so unique...In her song Samson for example she tells a story about samson and another woman before delilah...Samson in this story lets his hair get cut and doesn't care if he can kill and destroy anything or not....it implies he's better off with a loving the woman and losing his strength...and that this story is not told.... Then we went on to see the Yeah Yeah Yeah's and followed them up with Muse...but we aren't sure how widespread they got...It was the second time I had seen muse. VERY powerful. They put on a great show...dooo dooo doo do do dooo...(crowd erupts)....Staaaaar liiiight!!! hahaha...fun.

Day Three....
Alll about Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam....lol Got to the stage around 330 left drenched dripping in sweat around 1030... also got to see the Kings of Leon and My Morning jacket who were both very very good....The energy during the Pearl Jam show was unparralelled(Sp?) Pearl Jam fans have all these little things they do during the concert. I just went along with it basically not really knowing but I sort of got lost in the music...and when a minis mosh pit developed I went in and when people started shouting Oy I shouted oy... Tons of fun. Pretty much jumped and danced the entire show... .I don't know exactly howmany people filled the lawn but I couldn't see the end of the crowd when rising above it...The ending with keep on rocking in the free world sent me into a frenzy lol...

There's also something about being with so many other people who are just in a spot wanting to experience humanness. Just lots of love coming from everyone. Over 100 thousand people packed into Grant Park in Chicago. The positive energy flow from the people around you is incredible!!! Three days of it. I'm still on a high from it. Music Festivalss!!!!!!!!

My Dog Edgar

Was going to write something else but you just came sliding into the room. You are the best fucking dog in the world!! What? your like 112 yrs old? Edgar deserves his own post.

He loves staring contests, food, playing with other dogs, hunger striking for better food, licking people to death, forcing his way with his cold nose, rolling in the dirt, laying in the sun, peeing on the neighborhood trees, having the back of his ears scratched, escaping to the front yard, pretending to be a mean watch dog, jumping up on doors(which is how he broke his leg), taking advantage of people's kind hearts so he can get leftovers, not having his butt shaved, laying underneath the TV, waking people up in the middle of the night so he can run middle-of-the-night servailence in the back yard and pee and of course, drinking out of the toilet bowl.

Unfortunately, Edgar has broken his leg and since surgery may have developed neurological problems with his opposite hind leg. But he doesn't give a shit. He's sliding around and in good spirits doing what he always does, asking to be pet and scarfing down food. His legs are making some progress. Either way, you are a Great wise dog wizzard. You are now immortal Edgar!!! I have put you on the internet!!!

Here's to Edgar The Dog!!

Sometimes

Sometimes I get the urge to share thoughts experiences with anyone who has the time.... and that's what this shall be. I'll just let it speak for itself which means I should stop typing or does it? I repeat (i'll try not to in the future). For when I get the urge to share.. which is all the time really.
